A grid is a pattern or template of regularly spaced horizontal and vertical lines,it breaks space or time in regular units. Grids are a fundamental skill of design and an important tool that allows us to communicate better. A grid allows designers control when arranging content on a particular space.
WIKIPEDIA DEFINITION:
"A typographic grid is a two-dimensional structure made up of a series of intersecting vertical and horizontal axes used to structure content. The grid serves as an armature on which a designer can organize text and images in a rational, easy to absorb manner."
DESIGNERS use grids to divide the space they are working with, and to help achieve coherency and order when organizing the page. A grid is a beneficial tool to a designer because it allows them to use a system and method when arranging text, image, data, and other information in an orderly manner while creating the most appealing arrangement.
