Representatives #2: T-26

T-26
In 1994, Carlos Segura, from Chicago-based Segura,Inc started the type foundry, T-26. This foundry represented the significant shift in the type industry, which was that now virtually all designers could create typefaces, without the training or experience previous type designers had in past years. T-26 wanted to license and distribute typefaces created by students, designers, traditional print designers, like Michael Strassburger and Greg Samata, and even included Helvetica director, Gary Hustwit. T-26 features a wide range of typefaces in their library that have grunge, techno, retro, organic, etc. 'characteristics or themes' to them. These new designs have been featured on newsprint catalogs, trade magazine ads, etc, which all aided in making the typefaces desireable to designers and potential clients searching for a specific font. Besides providing pre-designed typefaces, which can be purchased on the T-26 website, T-26 also designs custom typefaces for clients. Some custom typefaces designed for clients by T-26 include: Teen People magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Nissan, to name a few.
I posted a few fonts off of their site that I liked or found to be interesting.
